Tyler Pons is a drummer based in Los Angeles, with a reputation as a versatile live and session performer.
He earned a degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, where he studied with Grammy-winning drummer Dafnis Prieto. During his time at school, he was a part of the university’s top jazz ensembles including the Studio Jazz Band and the Dafnis Prieto Artist Ensemble, as well as a faculty member of the Frost Summer Jazz Intensive.
As an active performer, Tyler works across multiple genres and projects. Raised in Washington, D.C.’s vibrant music scene, he was immersed in the performing arts from an early age, shaping his adaptability and comfort across musical settings.
Tyler has performed and toured with all types of artists, including rock bands, pop groups, country artists, and jazz ensembles. He has worked closely with NEP, Jack Wharff, Nuclear Monkey, Vania Junco and José André.
In addition to performing, Tyler is a dedicated music educator, teaching drums, piano, and guitar to students of all ages and experience levels.
Tyler will be on the road with Nep in early 2026 on her first headline tour.
