Tyler Pons is a drummer based in Los Angeles, with a reputation as an energetic and versatile live and session performer. Known for his commitment and collaborative approach, he brings focus and levity to every project, balancing precision with a strong sense of groove and adaptability.

He earned a degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, where he studied with Grammy-winning drummer Dafnis Prieto. His playing reflects both formal jazz training and a wide range of musical influences.

An active performer, Tyler works across multiple genres and projects. Raised in Washington, D.C.’s vibrant music scene, he was immersed in the performing arts from an early age, shaping his adaptability and comfort in diverse musical settings.

Tyler has performed live and in studio settings with all types of artists, including rock bands, rock-jazz fusion groups, country and Americana artists, and jazz ensembles. His performance experience includes stages such as Blues Alley in Washington, D.C., III Points Music Festival in Miami, and AMERICANAFEST 2025 in Nashville. He has worked with artists including Nep, The Jack Wharff Band, Nuclear Monkey, and José André.

In addition to performing, Tyler is a dedicated music educator, teaching drums, piano, and guitar to students of all ages and experience levels. He creates a structured and encouraging learning environment that helps students develop at their own pace.

Tyler will tour the U.S. and Europe with Nep in spring 2026 on her first headline tour.
